2 days of fun and football at Hilton and Swadlincote
The Football 4 Gals event was organised in partnership between South Derbyshire District Council, The RAF and Derbyshire FA to get girls into football. The players all received coaching from qualified coaches and took part in team building activities delivered by Chris Flack from the RAF.
The girls had a Nutritional talk with Amanda Drakeley, Healthy Lifestyle Officer for South Derbyshire District Council and also made smoothies with the blendavenda bike.
The girls who attended the two days were aged from eight to sixteen with all different abilities, some girls already were actively playing for a team and the players that didn’t were given details of local clubs.
All girls received a goodie bag at the end of the day and a certificate to say that they had attended.
The two days were a success with the girls having fun and learning new skills.
Derbyshire County FA’s Women’ and Girls Football Development Officer, Angie Harper said “the two day event was a huge success with the girls having fun playing football and developing their skills”.
