Be Active
To stay healthy we need to get some activity back into our working lives! Over the last few decades physical activity has gradually been removed from many jobs by energy saving devices which helps us to get the job done quicker. However, this may not be the best move for our health!
The good news is that there are many ways to get your daily dose of activity at work, even if your job involves sitting down all day. So don’t put off doing your daily activity until you’ve finished work, make your working day an active one with short bursts of activity whenever you can.
Eat Healthy
The food you eat during your working day can add up to two thirds of your daily food intake, so again eating well at your workplace is vitally important. And these days, being tempted by less-healthy foods is all too easy, particularly at work. What with birthday cakes, biscuit tins, and vending machines to name but a few of the regular temptations.
Eating a healthy balanced diet will help you feel good throughout your working day, giving you a sustained energy release that is good for your health, not only now, but also in the future.
Manage Stress
Being put under pressure is part and parcel of all work and helps to keep us motivated. But excessive pressure can lead to stress. Stress generally occurs when we feel unable to cope with the high demands of work that are often placed upon us. Over half a million people in Great Britain believe that work-related stress is making them ill.
Our reaction to a stress will not doubt affect out performance at work but can also make us ill. Stress can make you depressed, tired, or irritable while also disrupting your sleep, work, relationships and health.
