Providing services across Derbyshire to Small-to-Medium sized Enterprises (SME’s) Working Well aims to improve the health status of the working age population by providing health promotion and health & safety advice and support services to workplaces.

The programme is delivered by the Health Promotion Service of Derbyshire County PCT in partnership with other local business support agencies.
Working Well delivers the following services:
Registration Scheme
- Promotes access to workplace health information, advice and practical support via information packs, newsletter, website promotions, and referral to new initiatives and campaigns.
Healthy Workforce Assessment Service
- Helps businesses assess health needs on site, access appropriate support and motivate individuals to improve their health by delivering health checks and lifestyle advice through the workplace setting.
- Health checks include Blood Pressure, Waist/hip measurement, Weight check, Carbon monoxide level for smokers, and Lifestyle advice.
Healthy Business Advice Service
- Helps businesses understand risk assessment, comply with health and safety regulations, and deliver a positive health promoting environment to maximise productivity and minimise sickness.

Working Well East Midlands is a regional pilot programme to improve workplace health focusing on the workplace as a setting to encourage lifestyle change. It aims to ensure all East Midlands organisations and businesses are aware of their potential to influence the health of their workforce at both corporate and individual levels.
Employers can do some of the following to promote a healthy workforce:
- Encourage all staff to participate in positive lifestyle changes
- Encourage increased physical activity through the development of corporate workplace practices and incentives
- Make physical activity an integral part of overall lifestyle change promoted to employees
- Facilitate healthy eating choices through both corporate and individual choice
- Develop smoke free workplaces and offer stop smoking support
Working Well East Midlands main themes covered includes Healthy Eating, Know Your Numbers, Physical Activity, Stopping Smoking, Stress Management and Environment. Each theme lists advice and information on how to incorporate activities into your workplace.
